At the flip of a switch, we use electricity in our homes every day without even thinking about it. However, as the world becomes greener, the need to explore alternative energy sources becomes more relevant. In this course we will learn about solar energy as we explore three types of heat transfer: convection, conduction and thermal radiation. At the conclusion of the two-week class, students will be able to demonstrate their obtained knowledge by designing, building and testing a solar oven made from an ordinary pizza box and a few household items.
